Rover Dog Quilts

These two quilts were made with Rover Dog Park by Riley Blake Designs.  I have used this fabric before and made a puppy dog quilt from it but it is quite different than these two, so I will have to post about that one separately.  These two are pretty much the same and I really can't tell from the pictures which one is which.  Puppy Dog Quilts are always popular and so I have a hard time keeping them in stock!

Green & Gray Baby Quilt

This quilt is pretty calm and subtle. It has a nice blend of greens and grays that could be for a boy or even a girl.  There are small gingham checks, teal leafy vines, small flowers, soft gray polka-dots and paisley.  I call it a quiet quilt because all the fabrics speak softly and blend together without much contrast.  I picture a sweet little new born babe all snuggled up and asleep in this soft gentle quilt. It is available for purchase in my shop.

Jungle Quilt

This cute little jungle quilt was made by special order especially for a customer from my shop.  She purchased one of my Fox in Trees quilts and was looking for a jungle themed quilt as well.  I didn't think that I had any jungle theme fabric, but I did have this black and white fabric with the animals. She loved the fabric and so I designed this quilt  with the black and white theme.  Just adding a bit of gray polk-a-dot, and a gray flannel backing.  Perfect for baby Camilo!

Whale Quilt 4

I have made this quilt three other times and sold it through my shop.  I had the fabric and intention to make it again, only I had lots of other things on my plate and so didn't get going on it.  I kept the listing up though thinking that I would give myself 3-5 business days to get it done if someone purchased it.  I really did intend to make it before that, but inevitably it was purchased before I had even started it.  I kind of panicked a bit because this one has quite a bit of embroidery on it, and I had never done it under a time crunch so I didn't know if I would be able to get it done by the deadline.  But I challenged myself to just focus on one quilt and see how fast I could get it done, and was able to start and finish it in less than one day.

Squirrel Quilt

Definitely a girl quilt. This cute little squirrel quilt is available for purchase in my Etsy Shop. I designed the pattern to frame an applique, or a feature fabric and then have co-ordinating fabrics surrounding. There is also squirrels in one of the supporting fabrics.  I have made this pattern in several different versions so far. I am pretty happy with how this Navy & Peach Squirrel version turned out and I am going to keep experimenting!

Retro Orange Sunflowers

Ok, this quilt reminds me of the 60s.  Maybe it's the avacado green like the kitchen appliances we had in our home growing up, or the orange sunflowers that reminds me of the wall paper in that same kitchen....

Finish: 18 April 2020

Hourglass Elephant

I have a lot of elephant quilts right now because I wanted to take some handwork to put in my purse on my trip to Hawaii.  So I started a bunch of new quilts that need embroidery on applique strips.  I turned out that I didn't really work on them much during my trip, but I did get a lot done after because that is when I started self-isolating due to Covid 19.  I have enjoyed doing handwork in the evenings while watching movies with my family.  I actually like that we don't have anywhere to go.  This yellow and gray version could be for a girl or a boy.  I can't decide.

Finish: 18 April 2020
Size: 42"x 40"

Elephant Quilt

I have been at home a lot lately due to Covid 19.  Good thing is that I am getting a lot of quilting done.  Also a lot of quilting started.  I have noticed that I love to start new quilts. Although I do enjoy all the parts of quilting, starting must be my favorite, because I can't seem to limit my works in progress no matter how many quilts I finish....and I am ok with that!
This is one of my latest finishes - it is my 17th Covid finish
